We've had a lot of questions regarding the difference between Community Preparedness Teams and HomeGuard Teams.  The difference is that the CPT program is primarily for folks that are in adequate shape to be able to execute tactical maneuver. They need to be able to run, etc. There are a couple of roles envisioned for CPTs: 1) Disaster assistance within your own community and for others if you can 2) If SHTF, train others in your specialties and be a force multiplier

HomeGuard Teams stay back and secure their families, CPT member families and law enforcement/first responder families so that they can do their job without concern for their families. HomeGuard teams may also guard families of deployed service members, etc. in time of danger.

Specialties for both teams are: Medical, Engineering, Security, Communications and Intel.
